Kuretake Ceramic inkpot for fluid & solid ink
This dual-faced inkpot may be used for both types of ink: liquid ink and that from an inkstick.
An inkstick must be rubbed with water against a hard surface to produce its ink. This is both an arduous and rewarding exercise as little ink is wasted and that which is produced tends to be of a high intensity. Liquid ink is more easy to use, especially when larger quantities are required but not all liquid inks are of similar quality to that you can produce from an inkstick. One side of this inkpot can be used like an inkstone to rub an inkstick against. The other has a deeper hollow and is shaped to keep liquid ink from pouring out. |
