Hemp was one of the first fibres used in ancient papermaking, but today there is only a small number of hemp-based papers still in production. The Asarakusui, made from true Japanese hemp is a highly original paper where the fibres trace their way across the face of the sheet, leaving randomly sized gorges along the way.
